- Revolut allows customers to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency at the tap of a button
- Revolut adds Litecoin to its growing list of supported cryptocurrencies
- Revolut now offers exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin
Six weeks after launching its new cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, Revolut has today added Litecoin to its growing list of supported cryptocurrencies.
Revolut enables US customers to securely buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency at the tap of a button. Until now, Revolut had only supported Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Unlike traditional exchanges, Revolut removes the friction from trading cryptocurrencies, enabling customers to make an exchange at the tap of a button, while transparently displaying their markup before you make an exchange.
In addition to a manual exchange, Revolut customers can round-up their daily card payments, which then instantly converts their spare change into the cryptocurrency of their choice.
Revolut, which boasts close to 13 million customers worldwide, says that more than 1 million customers are making crypto exchanges on a regular basis, and that 5,000 of their daily signups are linked to its crypto service. Revolut has also said that monthly crypto volumes are in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
“Crypto has traditionally been inaccessible to the average consumer. Traditional exchanges can be clunky and confusing which can put people off. We have built a platform that gives you exposure to the world of digital currencies at the tap of a button, and that’s the way it should be.”
Revolut, which is building a global financial super app, also provides customers with a checking account, budgeting tools, instant P2P payments, and customers can get their salary up to two days in advance via direct deposit. Revolut customers can also spend and transfer money globally at the real exchange rate, and exchange 28 fiat currencies directly in the app, including US Dollars, British Pounds and Euros.
